Blog Peculiarities

Mechanics and blog-peculiarities

Etexts

In the "Pubs" [Publications] section, when you are given a link to an etext, you may need to experiment with the viewing system to give the best reading. For example, if you get as far as my main book - Gastronomy - or my second book "Are We Really What We Eat? . .", you can use the index in conjunction with the Contents link to the left to arrive at the appropriate chapter or section.  At times the quality of the image is poor and it is hoped to improve the situation.  That situation is not as good as my latest book on Scottish food and hospitality as the two previous books were scanned before turning them into etexts.

Etexts are viewed with Adobe Reader or similar and it is easy to resize text.

Google

Using Google blogs has its ups and downs. For no apparent reason, for example, text size alters at the input stage.   When you find that a paragraph or part of a panel [in any web document etc]  is difficult to read, all you need do is press Control and the + key twice or three times. To return, use the same keys and the dash - key. In this situation, it become the minus key

Address

You may have come to this part of the overall site from elsewhere.  If you inform family, friends, colleagues or enemies about the website, the easiest address is

www.gastronomy.org.uk

The combination of a website and blogs is an experiment.  In time the blogs will go on normal pages within the website.
