International Wine & Food Society Journal, March 2010, pp 16/17

This is one of several articles published in the journal of the International Wine & Food Society described on the 'Society 2' page on the horizontal navigation bar above.  It is not a journal in the academic sense with papers with foot-notes/references/bibliographies at the end of each.

You may need to increase the size of the text by using the size button in the lower right corner of your screen if it exists.  Another way of making changes is to use the 'Control' and the 'plus' or 'minus' keys.

You may have been reading "When Garnishes were on the Stage .." and I praised the graphic stage setting of the text. In fact, I was as pleased as Punch*

That led me to explore the ways in which such graphics are created.  The result is nowhere near the quality used by our illustrious editor, Pam Brunning.  The document I sent her included the menu in vertical plane and I asked her if it could be tilted.  She probably fixed it in a flash of gunpowder.  She even added French to the menu.

* Occasionally, I remember to deal with idiom for non-native English speakers.  The italicised Punch expression is explained at  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_and_Judy  and there is a good picture - another context of 'stage'.  More on the expression at   http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-ple1.htm

The article begins with mention of "Princess Ida" and settle in with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFNzykR6mcs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dULKVbJOlGQ .

It was not possible to find 'the Warriors three'.
